For this turnkey solution IRBS developed a double Gripper to improve cycle time and a fixture to place and pick the parts from the opposite side for parts that require more than one operation. IRBS also developed a set of four trays for pieces to obtain an autonomy of several hours.

IRBS | MAINTENANCE - A MUST IN PRODUCTIVITY

Maintenance is one of the most important services that IRBS offers, this is important because the client and IRBS can have the traceability of the robot and the rest of the parts of the cell. Not all the different applications have the same weathering so a comprehensive survey, diagnosis and subsequent maintenance is performed. IRBS launches a new Multiprocess Robotic Cell. This cell has the configuration tasks for Arc Welding , Plasma Cutting and Machining .These three tasks are possible to use them in the same work area within the cell thanks to a Tool changer ( automatic tool changer ) developed by IRBS. This cell also has an Artificial Vision System to avoid the need to incorporate positioning devices. Other features of this Multiprocess Cell: Self-supporting , allowing easy and quick transfer within any part of the layout of the customer's plant; Felxible and modular , allowing the change and the addition of other tools in the cell thus expanding its capabilities; Offline programming , to avoid stopping production while new pieces are program; Accessibility, is designed for quick and easy access for maintenance. IRBS successfully implements an unprecedented Seamless Tubes Robotic Packing Cell. It has a ABB Robot, the IRB 660 and a Gripper 100% developed by IRBS, as well as a collision detection device which is located between the flange of the robot and the gripper. The cell comply with a level of security appropriate to the highest standards in this industry. The cell cadence reaches 120 tubes per hour and can handle tubes from 3000 to 3500 mm in length and between 35 and 114 mm in diameter. It is composed of a Robot ABB, IRB 120 which communicates with the machine dedicated to the manufacture of plastic parts, and once the product is taken, the robot makes the corresponding left in the final packing box based on a program developed in order to complete it so as to optimize space in the box to fill these, with the 330 pieces required by the client.

IRBS SUCCESSFULLY DEVELOPED A NEW AUTOMATED SYSTEM FOR PALLETIZING SUCKERRODS

IRBS successfully developed a new automated system for palletizing sucker-rods. It has the ability to palletize rods up to 30 feet long and 1 ½ inches in diameter. The system is very flexible, allows easily programmed recipes with the characteristics of the rods and the description of the pallet to form. For this project IRBS designed a security system which incorporates a safety fence with double chain safety locks, an optical barrier for sensing the presence of any operator in the area of the robot and an area of homing for the robot with a mechanical protection for preventing collisions when the pallet is removed by a bridge crane. The project scope included the design of the cell, which had to be self-supporting, with a fast assembly cargo rack for helmets and reversible configuration because the customer had to have these benefits for using this cell anywhere in his plant. A unique Gripper was also developed that is able to manage different helmets models with minor changes.
